BEHIND THE LENS

To me, photography is an act of translation.

Like any art form, it’s a way of expressing your perspective — layering imagination, emotion, and intent into a single frame. At the same time, the world around us is constantly speaking — showing us moments, stories, and quiet details that ask to be seen and remembered. I see photography as the space where those two voices meet — mine and the world’s — in a kind of ongoing conversation. My camera is just the tool I use to translate what I see and feel into something others can connect with.

That’s what draws me to this medium. I love capturing the beautiful, the ordinary, the chaotic, and the quiet — whether it’s a wedding day full of emotion, a family frozen in time, a street corner humming with life, or a trail deep in the woods. Listening for these fleeting moments and shaping them through my own artistic lens is a deeply fulfilling labor of love — and one I’m always honored to share.

Cheers,
Nicole

People

Street photography is, without a doubt, my favorite kind of practice. There’s something endlessly fascinating about watching people move through the world — the way they interact with their surroundings, with each other, and with the unnoticed moments in between. It sparks stories in my head and keeps my eyes wide open. That’s why I try to carry a camera with me wherever I go — because the most compelling images often come from the everyday, the unplanned, the mundane. The best shots are rarely staged; they’re found. For me, it’s just another form of people watching — but with a frame and a little bit of magic.

Places

Traveling, exploring nature, experiencing new environments — to me, this is one of the most meaningful ways to engage with life. There’s so much to see, whether it’s wandering down a jagged European street or walking a familiar trail close to home. Every place holds a story, and my camera helps me listen. It’s not just about where you go — it’s about noticing the spirit of a place and capturing the quiet details that bring it to life.

Portraits

It started with friends and family asking for a favor — a few photos here and there. Then, little by little, I found myself being invited into these intimate moments: an hour spent capturing love, joy, or simply who someone is in that moment. And then came the reactions — the gratitude, the connection, the emotion. That’s when I realized how much I love portrait photography. It’s more than taking a nice photo; it’s about seeing someone fully and giving them something to hold onto.
